Why choose a Harley-Davidson Battery?

H-D Batteries are specifically designed and built as part of the vehicle’s electrical system and vibration profile and meet strict design and test standards to ensure long-lasting durability.

There are over 250 quality control checks done on Harley-Davidson batteries, all of which help guarantee the high quality of every battery that carries the Harley-Davidson logo.

Even in the case of a puncture or break in the case, H-D batteries don’t leak and they never need added electrolyte. This is thanks to specially designed Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM), engineered specifically for use in H-D Bikes. The Electrolyte is absorbed in the glass mats, which are placed between the positive and negative plates, which prevents leakage.

The flush-mounted terminal design provides superior cable contact, and the stainless steel terminal bolts resist corrosion. The H-D Batteries are designed specifically for your bike.

Tips for Battery Safety

- Always exercise caution when working with batteries

- Wear eye protection

- Keep sparks, flames and cigarettes away from batteries at all times

- Never lean on a battery when jump-starting a bike

- Never store a battery in a sealed container; always allow for proper ventilation

Battery Discharge

A battery discharges continuously in small internal loads called “self-discharge”. Self-discharge speeds up drastically as the temperature rises or drops and a battery that is discharged too deeply, for too long, or a battery charged with an incompatible charger may be permanently damaged.

A Trickle Charger is an excellent option to avoid Battery Discharge.

What is a Trickle Charger?

A trickle charger is a battery charger designed to re-charge the battery of your bike for an extended period of time. It’s an excellent solution for FIFO Workers, if your bike is going in to storage or your bike won’t be in use for a period of time.

Trickle Chargers add charge to the bike’s battery and doesn’t allow the normal depletion of charge that commonly occurs in batteries. They use a battery regulator to regulate the rate of charging and prevent overcharging, maintaining full battery capacity.

The Harley-Davidson Trickle Charger features a three-step charging system which monitors battery voltage to bring the battery up to full charge and switches to ‘float mode’ to maintain the charge over long periods of time.

It is weather resistant, which protects the charger from damp floors and splashes from outdoor elements. The charger is also reverse-polarity protected and spark-proof, even when the leads touch.

The Trickle Charger includes 2 separate connectors with quick adaptors. One is a ring-style connector for permanent attachment to your battery terminals and the other is fused alligator clip connectors for temporary connection. The typical recharge time is 8-12 hours.

You can purchase a Harley-Davidson Trickle Charger for $76.70.
